Cause I don't have enough going on....YZ870 edition
I guess I needed yet another project. Found this one on eBay for around $25 and threw most everything away lol.
Sourced new bulkheads, motor mount is on the way, and cut out a fresh chassis
I would love to find a jammin upper brace and battery straps to copy if anyone has em laying around
This is how she started
And the "progress"

That chassis cleaned up REALLY nice!
Almost all my posts will be edited because I know what I want to write, but my fingers always hit the wrong keys.

very impressive jeff. that chassis came out excellent. great start to your buggy.
out of curiosity, what size of counter sink drill bit did you use for the chassis?

Just a fresh blank canvas, it will have a Robinson oneway spur and associated shocks, and I want to cut a jammin upper brace and towers. It will be pretty basic just clean and simple

I have NIP towers you can use as a template if the ones on there are altered- I also have a couple of sets of white bellcranks if you don't have new ones-
make sure that you are using a serious air draft or filtration system when your grinding on that stuff!

Yes! I use a vac, sucks up all the dust and a dust mask just in case. I have heard how bad carbon can be but funny enough the guy that sells the carbon says he won't touch g10 because it's far more dangerous to the lungs. We used a dry-wall 5 gallon water filtration system that used a vacuum for suction but didn't run the crap through the actual vac...then just dump the black water and rinse the bucket. Cheap (20-25) and doesn't trash your vac or shop vac-gomachv wrote:Yes! I use a vac, sucks up all the dust and a dust mask just in case. Re: Cause I don't have enough going on....YZ870 edition
I'm surprised you picked that up for $25, but then again, I got my 870 for $30 Most 870s that I've seen, even in this condition, have been in the $100-$200 range. So, I'd say you got a really good deal here.
Those pink wheels look like they're in excellent condition, although I've never seen fronts that are quite that narrow. Must be a rare part.

stickboy007 those wheels are probably cut versions of the stockers.. way too thin compared to the narrow yz10 wheels..
