My YZ10 870c videos

Post by stickboy007 »

I bought this YZ10 about a year ago for $30 off of Craigslist (yes, $30, not $300). It was in quite good condition and just needed some cleaning, but of course, I have since invested quite a bit of money into upgrades. I figured it would be worth compiling my video list into one place here, so you all can see what I have done to make this an effective runner. If there are any questions about whether this chassis is competitive against modern chassis, some of these running videos should surely answer that...

HAHA, sure the buggy looks good,, but I think the driver is the real advantage in those videos. You seem to be knowledgeable in the art of old yokomos. So, any tips on a good slipper set up for yz10 or 870c?

Yokomo parts are about your only real help without some machine work help. They can be found on the cheap, but not likely.

I run a 10.5 in my 870c without a slipper, and it seems to do just fine. Granted, I'm not running on super high grip surfaces, so there's not a whole lot of stress on the drivetrain. I also run a 10.5 in my '94 YZ10. That one does have a slipper, but again I don't think it's necessary with that kind of motor.

Thanks for posting your video links! Especially the hex conversion...it may save me some money...then again who am i kidding...

As for the slipper i picked up a complete one for the other day...:) i know they are rare so i 'think' i got a good deal..?I do need the zc 641g(i think thats the part number) for my other one though...was thinking of using the gear adapter off the yr4? Ie the hard one and take the cog off..looks pretty much the same as the original one. Can anyone recommend wether this would work?
