Old Yokomo transmission casings screws

Post by minichamps11 »

I have a question about the large alloy(?) screws used on the YZ-870C to fix the magnesium transmission casings to the chassis. I need some replacements and wondered if they are the same as those used on the RC10? If so, can I still buy them from teamassociated?

Glad I found this forum as I've been struggling with my Yokomo restoration - it's really hard to find decent Yoke info in the UK, I guess because they weren't as popular as other makes.

My guess would be that they are metric... 5mm probably (similar in diameter to 8-32 but finer thread pitch). Dual or one of the other Yoke experts will know for sure.

The screws that hold the Magnesium/Aluminium Front and Rear Bulkheads onto the chassis are indeed the 8-32 x 1/2" Team Associated Screws. The part number if you are looking for them are ASC3324.

Cool, I thought they might be the same screws but wasn't sure. It's great that Associated still sell vintage spares - how many other RC companies do that? Whilst fixing up the Yoke I found these towers with some other parts but don't know what Yoke they're from. Are they for a Worlds '91?

The rear shock tower was made for the Yokomo Works '91 (will fit Works '93 also) and was an upgrade on the stock tower. This tower came as standard on the Yokomo Works '92 and offers different camber mounting points and an extra upper shock mounting hole compared to the standard Works '91 tower.

The front shock tower is a direct replacement for the Works '91 version. It uses the same camber and shock mounting holes as the Works '91 tower.
