Late night at the track. Truck worked awesome and was way better then I expected, threw it on the track and it just worked. A couple people came over to my pit space and wanted to see what I was running. One had no idea what a RC10T was (newb) the other was surprised it worked so well as he thought it was a T4. Its very well planted, has a ton of steering that I had to dial some out and jumps really good. Only thing I had to do was work on the gearing since my initial setup was a guess and I knew it could go faster. By the end of the night I was keeping pace with the rest of the truck pack and getting around the track faster then a couple of them. I had the most fun today at the track in a long time and it was running my RC10T. It was more fun then running my 4wd buggy and 2wd SCT. Time to get the Re-Re in running form and take it out. ,

Motor = Reedy Mach 1 17.5, Novak GTB2 ESC
I'm currently running a 78 spur and 27 pinion with 20 degrees of timing on the motor only and it's only hitting temps around 117 degrees on a 8 minute run. I'm going to play with timing a little more and might go up another tooth or 2 in pinion size to see if I can get to go faster. I might also try a 81 tooth spur to see what difference it makes.

Changes made to setup
I went from the stock rear bulkhead to and RPM to strengthened the rear suspension.

Changes I will be making
The body sits a little high so I'm going to modify some B4 wing mounts to mount on the RPM bulkhead to use as body mounts. They are long enough to mount the body in a similar way as it mounts on the T4.
Also I may go up to the next heaviest spring in the rear or increase the shock oil wt.

Took it out for some more practice on Tuesday. It just keeps making me smile as I run it hard and gets fast as I play with the gearing and motor timing. The fast guys in the stock truck class at my local track are running between low 21 - high 22 second laps times and I'm currently running low 23 - low 24 second laps consistently. If my driving was better I know I could run the laps the fast guys are, but I'm making to mistakes every lap. Setup is done and I'm not changing anything, but I might get a new motor as the one I'm using is a little tired and I have over geared it on the previous car I ran it in.

As of now I'm running a 78 tooth spur with a 28 tooth pinion, 17.5 Reedy motor with 25 degrees on timing with no boost or timing on the ESC. I run SMC 70c shorty packs all the way forward. My local track is OC/RC in Huntington beach in So Cal to give you an idea of the track surface i run on.

I have now raced my truck on 3 different occasions and it has been consistent. Made the a-main everytime but is still limited by my driving. I'm sure a better driver could put it on the podium and possibly win with it. Went to softer springs to reduce some traction roll issues and seemed to work well. Picked up a couple older T4 bodies and a T2 that I might run to get it closer to its roots so everyone knows it's an older truck that just passed them.

Hello Javier

Your overall ratio seems very low for me. with 78/28 and your 2.25 tranny you are at 7.24 : 1
Isn't it too much ? When you say your motor reach 117° is it C or F ?
Anyway it's a very nice truck ! The 17.5 T motor is a standard class in the US ? With what kind or brushed motor could it be compared ? 27T ?

7.24 is fine, 7.50 is the starting point for 17.5 in a truck. (6.0 in a buggy)

17.5 has been compared to 27t brushed and they are very close. But you can get creative with 17.5 and gear it to the moon. 117f is well within the safe zone(under 170f).

Slick truck!

Hey Coxinel,
My motor temps average between 115f-120f degrees. I think you can compare a 17.5 brushless motor to more like a 19t brushed motor considering the difference in power. Just my opinion.

Thanks Pumpkinfish

The rear body mounts are some modified T4/B4 rear body wing mounts. I was using the original rear base and front mounts together before, but I didn't like where I had to make the body mount holes. I just cut off the bottom portion that would normally tie into the stealth on the T4/B4.in the front I used some onroad front RC10L body posts cut down shorter on the stock front mount. I got many ideas from GreenHell and his sweet build. Mine is more like a homage to his, check it out.

Thanks Mike. Your RC10 and 10T were not to shabby either. I was digging your MIP paint on the truck.
