rc10 newbie question

hello, im a pretty new to this rc stuff so i dont know what im doing yet, but i have a question reguarding an rc10 that i have. I'm pretty sure this has probably been asked before but can you run a traxxas brushless velineon 3500 motor with an rc10 3 gear stealth trans? if so will it hurt the gears or will i be fine? also if i cant run that motor i have a traxxas titan 550 motor in it will that work fine? thank you for answering these questions.

If you give it the full beans from stationery it WILL shred your gears.. Oh yes, 30 years old now almost

the stealth trans(3 gear) can handle a lot of power provided you pay attention to assembly, and adjust the slipper properly. Be sure the diff setting is correct and set the slipper on the loose side and sneak up to the desired setting.
