Are you a racer, basher, builder or a collector?
Are you a racer, basher, builder or a collector? And If you do all three just vote for the one you do the most.
It’s not a debate, I’m just curious what the ratio of racers/bashers/collectors we have here.
In my case I’m certain that racing is definitely driving my interest in the hobby and also the reason my vintage stuff is out of storage. Myself and most of the racers I hang-out with are all close in age (mid-late 30s), we all raced as kids which makes for some good nostalgic bench-racing at the pub and vintage RC inspiration.

I get more kick out of building and restoring than running.
I have no place for racing within an hours drive, and no time for prep, race and rebuilds.
I barely run any of my models these days so I'm more builder than basher

race and collect. rarely bash.
that might change soon as my son is about to get his first rc.

Re: Are you a racer, basher or a collector?
I propose a fourth option, "Build". I'm primarily a builder, I do a lot more designing and building than actual driving (be it racing or bashing), and I don't have the collector gene. So considering that, I couldn't really choose any of the provided options.

Re: Are you a racer, basher or a collector?
This is a tough call for me as I've been racing and collecting for the past 20+ years. I would have said racer first a couple of years ago but I've always enjoyed collecting the stuff I grew up with. I still have my first RC10 that started me in this hobby. I've also ended up with 8 RC10T4's amongst everything else, they don't seem to go away.
My collection is pretty good and my race results are pretty good too, so it's a tough call.

I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !
Re: Are you a racer, basher or a collector?
In terms of what I spend the most time doing, then it would be a racer. Prepping various cars, and then time spent racing, is definitely more time consuming. That said, I love the building and restoring old cars part of the hobby, I just don't spend as much time on it.

I'd like to say I'm a builder, but at my root I'm a procrastinator, and being that neither of those are options on this poll I'll just check off collector.

I like to bash and collect, and may race at some point on a limited basis.

Re: Are you a racer, basher or a collector?
I recently returned to racing after nearly 20 years away (1994). I bought a current day car to race but have wanted to relive those old days, so I'm putting an old RC10 together, with thoughts of a WOIN to follow and then hopefully a Yokomo.
Plan is to race all, as that is what I enjoy, but I'm just as happy tinkering and modifying parts during the week

Re: Are you a racer, basher or a collector?
I started out as a racer and now a builder/restorer/developer. So I also like a forth option “builder”

Re: Are you a racer, basher, builder or a collector?
I picked basher but I don't really bash so much as I would rather run an all day practice with a few heats thrown in here and there than an actual race day. I am just not serious enough about racing to call myself a racer.

Since internet forum browser isn't an option, I will take the average of the past few years and call myself a racer. To some extent I've done each at some point in time though.

racer turned builder as kids and being a Dad take up too much time ATM to race. I checked collector as it suits me the options the best.
