Post by Wandy »

Current number of posts on the other four main RC forums...

TamiyaClub - 243

RCTech - 192

Oople - 89 & 99 on two seperate threads

URC - 159

As opposed to the 840 on here. :)

As a newbie here I have to ask...has a thread ever grown more quickly on this place?

6606 is used whether you had bushings or bearings.
yea i never did find a bushing adapter part #... so funny i was thinking the other way for years, just never went from bushings to bearings to figure it out for myself.. thanks

Well, going by post count anyway, that pretty much supports what I was assuming...bearing in mind those forums have much larger memberships than this one.

Will they have to honor the order that posts were made here that say "I'll buy one (or 2)"?

In all seriousness, that'll be a tough one to sort out depending how orders are placed. If it truly going to be that 'limited', there are going to be some upset people.

On the other hand though, if there are only 2000 (or whatever small-ish number) I find it odd that Tower would mass email everyone that the RC10 is being re-released. To me that would be some poor marketing to not be able to fill orders. Unless they really thought there would be no interest.
Today is 6/6/2013 . Tower still has the kits listed as mid august . No out of stock notice yet. But they have in the past changed the availible date to a later month.

All I can hope for is to get one and some cheap replacement parts. Looking at a new chassis, bulkhead and a-arm mounts for my runner.

Interested to see how they have the Lipo mounted.

Pre order . Pay . And wait . The name RC10 classic . Rear bulkhead cut out at bottom for lipo. Battery cup moved forward for lipo. Updated six gear . Still trying to picture that one. All the rest is the same. One the most secretive rereleases to date. Ruffy is swarn to not talk about it. Is there a tee shirt in the box?

I'm just going to say I'm pumped to say the least. Tower has always been great about honoring orders that I've made for at least 15 years. I have faith that things will be fine. The RC10 for me was the holy grail of cars as a kid and when I did find the cash to buy my first I was beyond pleased. I am honored to be with people that love this car so much. It goes without saying that it is an incredible product that has a website dedicated to it for crying out loud. Nuff said!

I am by no means saying these will sell out as pre-orders. I raced in the 80s with my father and his friends. I saw a few of them at lunch today and only one had heard about the kit (Tower email). 3 of the 4 said they'd buy one if they saw them at the hobby shop. Not one of them is on any forums, facebook or the like-- they are not the computer generation (no disrespect to the older guys on here  ). In the inner sanctum of the forums, we often forget that we are vastly outnumbered by the people out there not on any RC forums (who still enjoy RC!).
That said, even though the internets aren't blowing up I bet AE does very well with these once they hit the shelves and if it is indeed a limited run that they won't last (and sadly in that case I would suspect parts support wouldn't either).
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

On the Trans, the Tower page has "Transmission: Sealed six gear, low profile configuration".

"low profile configuration" 6 gear? Interesting.

Also note the delivery . From August to "estimated" . I am thinking late oct. or early nov. from tower. Like to see what a lo pro six gear looks like .
