Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
+1. This edition is probably only limited by the number of pre-orders people make.RC10resto wrote:kink wrote:Besided this talk of "Limited" does not convince me. I suspect what they are doing is taking pre-orders to then guesstimate how many to actually make in batch 1. After that is satisfied you can bet they will be making batch 2, 3 etc. They are a business. Hype like this simply helps to sell them. It works as you are buying multiples at a time due to panic.
I think you might be right, even though I was told the run was already pre-sold

Question is: Who's going to be the first to build one on here, and do a side-by-side comparison with the original... not that'll be interesting.

I am thinking of pre ordering one. I never had an original rc10 so I think this would be a cool way of getting one to run. I will make mine a carpet racer and run on my local oval just like the good ol' days!

Now we just need pictures of the actual car.

I just hope there'll be only ONE re-re build thread. No need to see 20 build threads all showing the same thing.Timmy2Tracks wrote:Question is: Who's going to be the first to build one on here, and do a side-by-side comparison with the original... not that'll be interesting.

I do wonder this actually...
Perhaps batch one will have no stamp. Batch 2 maybe stamped "A", then batch 3 stamp "B" etc... might be a fun little detail to keep you freaks happy

UK price looks like it will be £199 : http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php/as6001-team-associated-rc10-classic-limited-edition-pre-order.htmlkink wrote:I am not going to pull the trigger. The price in the UK will be double that of yours, either from a UK model shop, or once import taxes are added on top. Even if I did not like it I could not even flip it on for a profit (after the extra costs of UK profit or tax). I am not convinced I would even break even. So I am out.
Not too bad, roughly $300, but the UK always pays more

I'm tempted by one, although if I do convince myself to buy one i'll just end up building and thrashing it.

I'm happy and bout to order one.
It's crazy. Every RC we thought they would NEVER re-re, (Bruiser,Scorcher,Avante,RC10,etc...) they have. This is great.

Grabbed a screenshot to save for posterity. Won't see vintage stuff get this kind of coverage on their site again for a long time I bet, despite the hopes/prayers for subsequent re-re RC10's with Stealth, graphite, etc.soniccj5 wrote:Now we just need pictures of the actual car.

That UK price is much lower than I expected. I though it was going to be £300. Makes a change not to be ripped off.

Tower sent out an e-mail today with pre-order info. Looks like they are looking to sell lots of these.

Pre-ordered mine from Tower today. Thinking hard about picking up a second one to keep unopened. Tower price was $225 after a discount. GO GET 'EM!

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
You know, the more of this "hurry up and get yours now or lose out forever" stuff I hear, the more it turns me off to the whole thing. I want one, sure, but I'm not going to get bullied into spending money on something I haven't even seen. I laughed at the people standing out in the rain in front of the Apple store (or before that, waiting in line for the new Star Wars), and I'm not going to get sucked into that just because it's an RC10.
If I'm wrong about the limited-ness of it, the so be it. You guys who get 'em, enjoy 'em. But if I'm right, there will be one waiting for me on a hobby shop shelf in 6 months, and I'll get one then.

The pre-order just went up at A Main. Some features are listed. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_1561_2574/products_id/261094/n/Team-Associated-RC10-Classic-Kit
