Maybe after AE gets their 1:1 gold pan they will run it in the Lucas Oil Off Road Pro Buggy class: http://www.lucasoiloffroad.com/index.php/about#probuggy

That would be cool!

just an odd question but where would someone go about anodizing that big of a car. seems like there couldnt be that many places capable of it.

wonder what would happen to the 1:1 after its used.

It would be pretty cool if this does really happen and they ended up doing a team car also so. To me these aluminum tub cars are so much better looking then the new all plastic buggies.

Lets go over this... Small little timeline:

Traxxas ditches racing program and goes into RTR Market... Builds Gas Truck

People buy gas trucks...

Companies make conversions for gas trucks...

Manufacturers make their own gas trucks...

Gas Truck racing explodes...

Traxxas makes TMaxx

GaZillions of people buy TMaxx and it surpasses RC10 in gross sales...

Gas Truck Racing explodes even more

1/8 scale racing heating up

Buggies get converted into Truggies

Manufacturers make their own truggies

1/8 scale offroad explodes, 1/10 electric slows...

Traxxas builds Short Course Truck...

Gazillions of people buy short course truck

Conversions show up...

Manufacturers build their own Short Course

Brushless and LiPo show up...

Electric heats back up... 1/8 scale slows (Slightly)

Whats the next big Traxxas move?

i always thought it would be kinda cool for them to re-issue the original kit, but do it using the modern materials. plastics, composites, etc. a molded tub would be pretty neat, imo.

I won't buy one unless it's just like the original, 6 gear trans and all. The whole point is to own a re--release of the kit that started it all. But I also have a re-re Grasshopper and Lunch Box.
RC10 Short Arm | Novak Tempest ESC | Tamiya Torque Tuned 25T | Savox 1258 | Stealth Trans w/ Exotek Slipper Eliminator (geared 24/81)
RC10B3 | HW Just Stock Club Spec | Reedy 13.5 | Savox 1258

It would be very easy to for AE to make a modern car fit that body and from the outside you would never know the difference. One thing I like to see are fresh replacement tires reissued for the old jelly bean wheels
