Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
They did use the real-life warthog in the Forward Unto Dawn TV series. They did a real good replication. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=le6TQCk2j7I
Still, a 1:1 RC10 would be very cool! I wonder how faithful the reproduction is to be.

They posted that on the wrong forum.ca-rj wrote:Adding more fuel to the fire, this guy is building a full size RC10 for Associated (probably for RCX).

Hmm, just thinking out loud, but if a 1/1 is being built commissioned by AE, maybe that is what the ad is about, a 1/1 as a 30th anniversary tribute, and there is no re-re in sight ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
Yeh when i first seen it re re was playing in my head over an over,if it was a stealth based vehicle i think they may sell more as it's not to far away from what we have now, maybe slight rejig of the current case so it looks like 2.25 trns an other cost saving or so called performance improving parts. As a shelfer (if i had one) the first series are very cool but a champ ed with stealth is what i always think of when i think RC10. If it was B5 there would be some people who grabbed the 4.2 who will most likely be pissed,i would. ![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
The only reason you would spend tens of thousands to make a 1:1 RC10 is to use it an a promotional tool (advert) to drive interest and sales. They are hardly going to advertise the original RC10 and then say great, now we have your attention please buy a new completely different B5 or whatever. If that was the case they would be making a 1:1 B5.

Not necessary, you can still promote your new products with a 30 year old 1:1 RC10. It’s the perfect thing to attract and get maximum publicitymtbkym01 wrote:Yep , very valid pointkink wrote:The only reason you would spend tens of thousands to make a 1:1 RC10 is to use it an a promotional tool (advert) to drive interest and sales. Really? I've always wanted to build a 1:1 RC10 just because it would be awesome and chicks would dig it.kink wrote:The only reason you would spend tens of thousands to make a 1:1 RC10 is to use it an a promotional tool (advert) to drive interest and sales. ...

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
It would be cool, but if you were commissioned to build a car as a fabricator, and you leaked it- couldn't it threaten your project commission?
I'm just saying just because someone fabed an awesome wing
, and posted it on the internet, doesn't make it true.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action
Well I agree, it would be awesome on a personal level. I'd love to own one! But Associated are a business. This will be done to generate interest and then sales, to justify the large expense. If they do not release an original RC10 everyone is going to be massively dissapointed after the build up seeing a 1:1 gold pan. No sane company is going to want to dissapoint customers after such a build up. You'd want to convert the excitment into sales not dissatisfaction.
