Yokomo 870c Stadium Truck

In my scheme of being different, I built this beauty. The car was originally bought for some bits and bobs (look at neat English humor I've learned here ...) and was supposed to be sold. Well, as you can see that didin't happen. It was just too nice! It has Andy's arms and front steering knuckles, Novak 410MXc esc, Dynamite micro receiver, JG rear body mount and wheels, GPM aluminum steering parts. The front body mount is for a Kyosho Lazer by JG. A dip in boiling water and some quick bending made a near perfect fit. Body is a JConcepts RC10GT version.

Sure there's rust on the universals and it isn't perfectly clean. Fine by me cause it's a runner!

That's awesome Brian, did Yokomo ever released Truck wheels or did you have to adapt them to fit

Very cool indeed, and these wheels are from a Tamiya right?
With 12mm hexes.
How did you get hem onto the much larger 4 sided adapters?

Thanks, gents. Hardest part ... It took forever to find a body that would sit just right for that "modern" look.

The wheels are by JG and are a direct fit! Toaster was selling a bunch of them and I snagged a whole lot of sets in different colors.

Be careful when dropping Kydex into boiling water ... it gets real soft real fast. If you were to just drop the whole part in, all of the bends would disappear!

Kydex is awesome. A heat gun and selective shielding may work better for controlled heating and reshaping.

you ain't kidding. I found out the hard way. Put a kydex JG esc shelf in with some parts that I had cleaned. dropped them all into a pot of boiling black RIT to freshen them up. The nice 90deg bent bracket came out as a perfectly flat plate.
I had to try a couple times to boil it and then quickly bend it back to shape before it cooled too much.

Oh ok, thanks for the Kydex tips. I am glad I didn't rush home and try that lol. I guess it's a memory plastic.

BTW Brian are you gonna put the buggy under tray on to protect your chassis? I'd reccomend it.

If only it were easy to get more undertrays ... I have a brandy new one that I refuse to cut up. I plan on checking with a local plastics place and see what it would cost to do repros.

You could just get a Kamtec repro body and undertray and use that.

I trimmed up some stainless steel shim stock and made a chassis plate. I'm going to order up some sheet Lexan and make a couple "mud flaps" like the JRX-T. I can also sharpen the leading edges and mow the lawn!

It will lower the CG drastically, but not back to buggy level
Stealing in on the tread: this reminds me of the HPI RS4-MT (hope I remembered it correct; haven't seen any on this site sofar).
It wasn't much of a succes since 4x4 trucks were not allowed in races Anybody know of other trucks on this line?
