I think i mentioned this before but i think there will always BE divisions of the purists who want everything to be "as it would have come in the box" and those who don't mind the one-offs.
You wonder whatever became of companies like A&L, and the others who had the one-offs for the RC10?
This brings up another question. I don't know all the intricate details, but with pattents (sp?) there is a life to them right? They are good for certain amount of time, or is it once you patent a product its there for life?
If a company (like A&L) is no longer in business, what happens to those and could someone buy them and start re-producing them, OR could the products be recreated but at the cost of royaltys?

I remember when I worked for Caterpillar, one of the biggest things that set us apart from everyone else on the hoes was the bend in the arm. It is a huge improvement in efficiency compared to straight beams.MOmo wrote:....but with pattents (sp?) there is a life to them right?.....

But I remember a few conversation about what was next when the patent ran out on it. Because then, everyone can start using that design. So I think there is a time limit on patents. It is a good question.
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.
