Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (near completion)
bah my heater stopped working before i started, so im assembling a slammer runner car using random old parts.. just polishing some stuff to finish, and trying to make a b2 tower work, i got the bottom grinded but now i need to drill holes cause its going in the aluminum chassis and needs to have holes drilled for the chassis tubes

Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (near completion)
ive been working on this thing so slowly lol..
im trying to determine what kinda body i want on it right now, i made 3 different style aluminum roof plates, and they all look so stupid on this kinda car for some reason.. i was going to use some protech bodies and cut them out etc... but after destroying 3 bodies and only having the lexan roof peice looking good.. i dont know what im gonna do...
1 thing i might try is to custom make a vaccuum form body by forming a sheet on top of the car directly, filling the gaps with some hard sculpting clay with scoops and definition, and then forming a master body.. but im still waiting for my order of 4x8 petg and lexan sheets to come in...
its ready for paint or powder at this point chassis wise, i added a battery brace thingie from tube cause i made the chassis so low profile im having a hard time installing a battery cup, so i made a "cup" from a tube with side peices and going to use a velcro strap in the middle.. So i think for now the brazing is done... maybe just a random nut or two left to support some sort
i also painted a tamiya driver that i re-molded and am going to use, i made some extra too as a diversion from this car lol
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320197040238&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=011
they came out really nice and assemble perfectly, but im having a hell of a time making a steering wheel mold... but im working on it lol
pictures to come later tonight

Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (VERY VERY near completion)
Ok, just got back from powdercoating shop, came out pretty nice, got a silver flake chrome powdercoat.
going to assemble when i get home from work, and paint a couple body panels, and heading to the engraving shop to get a plate engraved for the front with the AE logo on it.
