I hated the bodies at first because of appearance... But I can notice a difference in them and if I can, anyone can. Get an older one and a newer one and go to the track and test and you will see...
I also had a small conversation about this very topic with Jr last weekend. He said there is very noticiable differences in many things with bodies and he referred to the xx4 bodies they did testing on. The openings on the front sides had huge effects not only for cooling purposes when they made the hot weather body, but it also had significant changes in handling. And every incriment of changes were noticable.
Not only do the cab forward bodies help in the front with the windshield being closer, but the step off the back of the cab also creates downforce towards the rear of the car. Another interesting conversation I had with another person was that you got more with a bulldog over a Finnisher because the finnisher was stepped twice and the second step disturbs the air some. The latest bulldog has a fin on the roof line of the cab which helps straight line obviously.
There are many youtube videos online with people that have mounted a video camera on their car... if they have the actual sound from the recording, you will notice a significant amount of air that flows over any rc car.. It is usable air no matter the size of the car.
I don't really care that much because I think the Bulldog does not look anything like a bulldog. Tadpole would be much more appropriate name IMO. The JC body just looks slightly better IMO and that is why I use it.
just some thoughts,
