Arrived from the States today......

Post by Albertini »

My first gold tub arrived today and I must say I'm not disappointed. It only needs a bit of cleaning up and a new battery holder but I think thats it, unless you guys can see anything obvious that I can't.
I have a new viper shell to go onto it,not sure on the paint scheme yet. Its only a little scuffed underneath which probably is a good thing as I won't feel too bad about running it ( just once in a while ).
Once its painted and cleaned up and ready for the road ...ahem...I mean shelf...I'll post some more pics.

Looks really good. The proper shell would be a Protech II, but the Viper will fit just fine.

Thanks for replys.

The Viper shell I have for this is not really my first choice of shell, I really prefer the earlier, funkier shell but I'm afraid I don't know what its called or whether it will fit ??

Does anybody know ?( silly questions I really should know the answers to, sorry ) :)

First shell is called Protech I and is still available from TowerHobbies and other online shops. One of the best looking ones IMO. It will fit your car without any problem, it was made for the tub

No question is silly.... how do you think we all know what we do? Knowledge comes with asking questions and time.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Hello Timbo......oooooohh...if only they were white.

I see your from York, do you enter the vintage series they run there? Might even be tempted myself for a one off visit depending on the rebuild and wether a clubmate digs his old "cat" out.

None of them... They were only released in white and black, those in the pic above where originally white and have been dyed red and yellow...
