The Legend (Lazer ZX) Shock Tower
Hello All, Does any one know if anybody made a production "legend" shock tower like the one in the picture?

That packaging looks familiar. Wasn't there a member selling a bunch of parts for (chassis / shock towers / wheels) a couple years ago?
And yes, the legend became the lazer. I still remember the small black and white picture of it in RCCA.

Re: The Legend (Lazer ZX) Shock Tower
Back in the old days I knew the couple that produced these shock towers. It was a local company here in Toronto Canada. I would like to use this part on my runner but I wanted to know if there are others out there that I may be able to track down. If not I will make an autocad drawing so If I break it I will be able to have another laser cut. I really would like one of the rear shock towers so I can have a set.

I think that it is the same guy. I found a thread that he had posted on. I did not him very well I think I met him once but I knew his wife. She was the one that would show up at the track to sell the graphite parts. A rather nice lady. Hopefully he still lives in town and I can get to him for some parts.

Re: The Legend (Lazer ZX) Shock Tower
I bought some parts of him. The smaller ones like shock towers were very good. But on on the larger parts: topdecks and chassis you could notice they had a hard time keeping holes in the right places. The optima mid chassis I had for example had the rear gearbox mount pattern a little angled to the front pattern.
Not dramatic for a shelfer, just don't expect the higher quality of bigger brands.

I'm a fan of the 'Legend' towers and had to have a set for my ZX. Wished mine were the black graphite instead of carbon fibre though....

Holy Cow I had a car that looked almost like that paint and all. I had the pink Yokomo rims with the Yokomo mini pin tires. I guess great minds think alike.

Re: The Legend (Lazer ZX) Shock Tower
I wasn't going to bring it up but since you did, so will I. I have a couple Strate Engineering parts, including a bumper that was supposedly for an Optima but is actually for a Mid, and I agree...my overall impression of the quality was that it wasn't the best. Not so bad, but not so great either. At least that's my observations with this Kydex bumper.Mr. ED wrote:I bought some parts of him. The smaller ones like shock towers were very good. Yeah I always wanted a ZX. Once completing this build I could not be happier with it.urban hype wrote:J.M
