Re: Currently playing.
A lot of people think Weird Al just rips off other artists, but I think he has a very unique style that's all his own. I don't get all the hatin'.

This is the first thing that popped into my head after that. I'm not sure I'd ever seen the video, but it's some pretty cool model making really.

Good One! - I don't think I had seen that video either.
Here's a lesser known band from the same era (mid 1990's):
Consolidated - America Number One

Podium sales must have skyrocketed from '91-'95.

Re: Currently playing.
Here's an old Texas band (they recently reunited in Austin...),
this one's from a 1992 album called "Stupid People Shouldn't breed";
the intro is by spoken-word poet Lorri Jackson,
who died of a heroin overdose that same year.

I got that one!! It has been years since I have seen that! MTV was golden back then. What a kick to the past.THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote:This is the first thing that popped into my head after that. I'm not sure I'd ever seen the video, but it's some pretty cool model making really.

Re: Currently playing.
Nice post Diaz.
I actually like their newer stuff like that way better than their older stuff. Killer album. Cleaning up the aftermath of my daughter's official B-day party earlier today and this came up. Great CD. Too bad they commented that they would be "bigger than the Beatles" and shot themselves in the foot...

Re: Currently playing.
I need to get my dad a CD of that. I'm sure he has it on vinyl. Every B-day, Christmas and Father's Day I try to emulate his vinyl collection digitally. This past Christmas I concentrated on The Guess Who after being reminded of his jam sessions of them earlier this year. Of course I keep copies of everything for myself while on these little journeys.
