help with vintage rc10 racing

You can use big bore shocks as Scr8p mentioned, don't be surprised if most guys there don't exactly know what it is I ran one bi-weekly for a year against guys with current stuff, A Mained ahead of them and they still didn't know what it was-

so why cant i run the big bore shocks?????

My pictures above (and below) have the Losi BB shocks on the car. Those towers are fine, they are what I run.

if you did not get longer rear arms, those b44 cva's are of no use to you.

i got the rpm front an rear arms.

i thought most of u guys would know about the new 12mm big bores from associated????? they r smoother than the standard associated shocks

I have Kyosho 12mm on my B44.1, TLR 12mm on my 22SCT, and AE 12mm on my SC10. The first two are better

Very smooth on the track. I put them back onto my 22 for now, the stock gold shocks are back on there, the car is very edgy now. Cant wait to get a set of BBs dedicated for this car.

kyoshoracer77, using the "standard" rear RPM arms (only ones still available, unless you find the "worlds" style off eBay), the B44 cva's can only be used with a modified B4 rear carrier (drilled for the larger hinge pin hole). You can use B4 wheels after that, but you will be narrower. I personally am a fan of B2/B3 cvd's with correct bearings in the rear hubs and the TT rear wheels. Keeps the geometry exactly the same as designed.

FYI, to tell the difference between standard and worlds style arms, standard have 3 shock mount holes, worlds only have 2.

What shock springs were you running front and rear on your BBs? What weight of oil would you recommend to start with front and rear? Thanks for the great info!

Stock 22 springs, red front, yellow rear...55 pistons, 30 wgt all the way around. Was quite hot so indoor/colder weather, I would drop the oil.

no need to be sorry jk racing, answering the questions is how we all learn about what works. i do have b4 rear hubs, but how narrow is compared with the stock rc10??

no, GT arm mounts will not work. best/only bet, eVilBay

1/4" or more, I dont exactly remember. You can use the Custom Works axle spacers to get some back. I think scr8p has pics floating around of what they look like mounts. You will be forced to use low profile nuts with the spacers.

In the Tech Section, we have a good thread about set ups, shocks, springs and such, makes for good reading and great place to post "my car is acting like this, suggestions" type questions it helped me a lot in tuning the car at the track.

yes that section does help alot!!!!! thank u. i will have pics posted as i do the build. this is my first rc10 build. i see u guys like the (TT) wheels, the only reason i want to do the b4 wheels is cause i got a lot of them to use. i wish i could find all the rear mounts for the rc10.

i was on ebay looking at rear hubs and saw soom tc6-tc5 rear hubs and wonder if they would work???.
