rbuilding my stealth tranny

Post by slvrback »

Was bored today and decided to rebuild my 91 stealth tranny. Got out the originals directions and followed them for old time sake. It feels a lot smoother but seems stiffer then my other two..what the break-in time? In any??

I'm not really sure that there is a break in time...Go back and double check eveything and make sure that nothing is binding...If you used all new parts it will feel stiffer then your old one that has seen a couple of battery packs...You can take the rear wheels and cvds out and hook up a freshly charged battery to get some run time on the new gears...That way it will spin without to much resistance...After you run it with some packs it will loosen up due to wear or the gears meshing better...Then you could always take it back apart and try some dry ice or something similar to help cut down on friction...

Hold one tire and apply a small amount of throttle to set the diff.

I'm pretty sure they are still available at tower hobbies and other sites. The LH outdrive is the hard part to source.
