Nut driver size
What size is the nut driver for the real little nuts used on the ball studs on the B4 and other cars?

Re: Nut driver size
Yeah, the regular "little" nuts, ie the plastic ones, are 1/4" the "big" ones, like rear axle nuts, are 11/32". Now I'm speaking from regular old pre B2 experience...

Re: Nut driver size
Hang on, you've said 1/8" and 3/16".....

Three-sixteenths is one-sixteenth of a toe more than an eighth.Northy2 wrote:Hang on, you've said 1/8" and 3/16".....![]()

Re: Nut driver size
And I have erred...
Small 4-40 nuts and ball ends are 3/16", the larger 4-40 nuts are 1/4"... The wee 2-56 nuts are 1/8".
Sorry, I've also edited my original reply.

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Re: Nut driver size
I should add for you 'chaps' benefit that these sizes are AF (across the flats). I know that 'your' imperial system has (had?) some other 'issues'...not all bad.
