Cliff Lett's Dirt Oval RC10 Questions

Post by LTO_Dave »

I've been wanting to build a replica of this car for quite some time, but I can't find any info or pics of the details like electronics, etc. Does anyone know anything about the car that was featured in the 6-Gear Graphite ads in '89-'90? When and where was it raced and what title(s) did he earn with it? It has an AE Cougar body with the usual Novak, Reedy, RCPS, Lavco and Associated decals of the era. And it has what possibly looks like RC10L or Bolink front foams.

I have to reload win zip to view the scans, but my guess would be JG nationals in Bakersfield CA or a NORRCA nats- I see the AE foams, gold shock tops and cell slots in the chassis-

 people still use WinZip? Try 7z If you want something light that works great and is free
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas
Factory Works website

If it's from '89 then there's a bit of info on Cliff Lett's car in the September '89 RCCA issue.
He ran a prototype Associated gearbox, and he couldn't give me any details about it, but I'll have more information after the World Off-Road Championships.
Some of the specs listed for the car were a Reedy 14 D motor, Novak T-1X, Yokomo foams in the front, and Advanced Engineering Grand Prix tires in the rear.

Sorry about the hijack, but winrar at rarlabs.org is free alternative to both winzip and 7z
