eBay Rc10 Graphite Find

Post by stingerrray »

Just got this in the other day off eBay $85 shipped. This is a good candidate for a nice runner. Although it looks a bit beat it is still reasonably solid. It is going to be taken apart and fully rebuilt. The plastic parts are going to be dyed black as they are pink now. The tranny will be used for a 6 gear rebuild thread in the tech section. After rebuilding a 6 gear last week it may become a useful thread. Hopefully so, after all what do I have lose. If just one person benefits that will be worth it. Take a look at this old graphite and let me know what you think.

Thanks, Rob

Not bad at all :D the chassis seems to be in good shape overall (the nose loved to get beat up) you might consider a light wet sand to the bottom to see if you can feather those scuffs out and use it for a resto 8) Tub cars run better anyway!

Coming along nicely. Just be sure to keep plenty of Natty Light on hand. It's an essential tool during any restoration.

Natty Light is a staple at my house. Here are a few updated photos of the rebuild.

Here is the pic of the tranny from the how to thread that was mentioned earlier in this thread. It is 98% complete now. Notice the Polyamide Sealed Bearings on the Drive Gear. They are supposed to keep out debris. What do you think?
