It says in the description it's an RCL International Incident Limited, NIB body and wing, alloy wheels, metal monocoque chassis, magnesium steering hubs.

Sorry my Japanese is a bit rusty that's all I can translate at the moment. I believe its a partially new built never run car. It looks awesome IMHO.

Is there not an Incident Limited with a metal monocoque chassis then? As that's what the auction description states? I was really hoping to get this one correct

Ah, I know it.
I have seen plenty spare parts for the RCL Incident, including shocks early this year.
Think darryn has built one, but not this version.

I actually have a rear tire set from them with Japan-correct squid knobs LOL.
(and a 32 DP red anodized 15T pinion; why the hell did I buy that again???)

Looks like same model, unfortunately he's already sold the decals and has no body, real shame was he had a set of Losi JRX2 decals as well, sure someone on here needed them, unless they got them

This is definately the Pro version of the Incident. There were two versions of the car, with several running changes made to the model over its life cycle - most notably plastics quality and colour as well as moulding changes.

The version pictured is a standard "Pro" version. There was never an alloy chassis - just silver plastic to get the more "classy" look....Japanese translates in funny ways sometimes....."you think not if understand"!!

I personally have 5 of these babies ranging from a totally standard base model kit NIB - through to a full blown ex national level prototype model that was raced here that I have restored. The modified model look nothing at all like the ones you see here - it has carbon lower chassis, sideplates , custom centre gearbox. This car was built and raced by a machining specialist company in Australia called RPM engineering. They made many brilliant cars and conversions - the one that I have was the owners "test bed" and has all his tricks on it. If you guys are interested I will dig it out and post some pics.......be warned - its awesome! (sorry - really is one of my most favourite modified cars, it looks that good).

Parts are pretty blinking hard to get outside of Japan - there are the occasional bits popping up every now and then - but they are not in plentiful supply. The cars were VERY successful here in Aus for a short while (everything back in the mid eighties had a turn at being "the car" to have). They also enjoyed success in Japan and the Asian region - however I dont recall them doing very well in any of the US of European magazines....perhaps Terry could comment there?

Love the car - if you have any questions - I will do my best to answer them. Did a review on the Incident last year in R/C CAR magazine.

Never trust an online translation service. Just think how much it would cost to make a metal casting as finely detailed as the chassis in the picture. It is a metallic chassis top.


Virtually unheard of outside of Asia. Never taken seriously as the all plastic design and complex drivetrain meant it was never looked at as a racing buggy, the same as Nichimo and Nikko cars. Australia is different to the rest of the world in that the distributor actively develops the car to make it competitive (the same with the Bulldog and the Nikkos), elsewhere if it didn't take off the distributor just sold something else instead.

Speaking of the bulldog - I still think they were a fantastic car - but again - we were spoilt by the enginuity of the specialist modifiers here in Aussie land.....

The gearboxes on the Incident were no more complicated that an Hotshot - but they (RCL), did not have the mighty Tamiya name behind them ......

God I love the eighties for these cars - so many designs and different ideas - truly a rich segement of our hobbies history.
