need a little help with my f-150
ok guys short info
i have many rc10s and a few tamiyas so my knowledge of tamiyas is very slim
the other day i picked up a f-150 in pretty nice condition not a shelf queen but could be made in to a
good little runner
so here is the problem, i posted this pic the other day and someone said the torsion bar is upside down
could you confirm this and if so how do i flip this over
i have no manual
i could figure it it by just taking it all apart
but is there a easier way
and also how do u get the hubs off
i thought they just pushed on , i tried with a lil force to pull them of but they wont come
do i just need to use more force?
thx farmer

Re: need a little help with my f-150
Hubs don't come off axles, have to take setscrew from universal and pull axle out
iirc you can slip the 2 torsion bars apart at the brass "v" and your basically going to flip the "v' over and slide it back together. It appears to hold the truck up just fine, by rotating it, it will be much stiffer. You may not even want that.

Re: need a little help with my f-150
ok so if the torsion bar is correct
do these cars have only about a 1/4 of travel?
also does the radio tray sit real high
could someone with one post some pics of the torsion bar and how high the radio tray sits
and this thing seems stiffer than a 12 year old discovering playboy
is this how they are?

yes
yes
yes
... and
yea
the torsion bar is kinda upside down, it should point upwards. I dont know if that will interfere with the radio box, but thats the way these were built. Crude with pot metal parts

Re: need a little help with my f-150
That torsion bar set up is correct and is not upside down. The radio box is designed to sit up off the chassis some because of the well nuts that attaches it. And yes the rear suspension is super stiff with the torsion bar set up. There were several companies back in the day like CRP and RCH that made coilover shock conversion for these for front and rear that did help and you can sometimes find these on ebay.

Lots of manuals online, sorry for the poor pic but its a start...you can see the torsion bar is assembled correctly
