Re: Lazer ZX by Bormac
I used those towers in late 89 and were rather good.
Pure ten diffs are the prefered opton that a lot of team drivers used. The blue steering arms were for the pure ten but a few team drivers prefered these as they were stronger and also got rid of all bump steer which aided handling. The blue steering were the kit parts for the lazer zxs evolution and were the only lazer in the series that came in the kit

Finaly have my ZX nearly complete. While I do like the box art but also tired of all the one colour schemes I have seen around I went with a design of my own. Far from perfect I knocked this paint scheme out over a period of time waiting for the coats of paint to dry between each colour. I'm happy with the final outcome.
Also went with genuine Yokomo 2.2" wheels as these were a big deal back then and this build wouldn't be right without them

Wow, superb work, best looking ZX I've seen! It's that paint job, perfect for the body shape. And they do look better with the bigger wheels on too.
I want a ZX now!
I've recently acquired a ZXR, and was concerned that there didn't seem much travel in the front shocks (about 10mm) and wondered whether they had the wrong pistons in them. But having seen yours, they look the same. So they must be standard like that.

Thank you for comments of support. I am really happy with the overall look of the ZX as it was a car I had a hard time getting into at the start. Now it's done I completely love it!

Sweet mate, very sweet. I had pink yokomo wheels on mine for a while, also just noticed your using my spur gear, does look nice on your car. By the way i forgot to mention I tried almost all holes on those towers, but ended up on roughly the same holes that came out on the zxr. You do know Mannie Panesar designed a front roll bar on his proto legend, and may be worth adding. You can still find a pic of his car online somewhere with it on, he was a great guy to pit with (he stopped racing), a true ambassidor to our sport.
One day i want to do a worlds event somewhere specifically for Lazer ZX, ZXR, ZXS buggies and maybe a few others like yokomo, schumacher, tamiya, afterall its more to show off our own unique cars.
