There was a GTX body that losi made that didn't have the tire. A8019
" The new GTX-S body is narrower overall and has a completely new look to it. The hood area has been "cleaned up" and incorporates a stepped scoop. The scoop can be cut from behind to help with both cooling as well as slightly increasing the steering of the truck.
Like all other bodies from Team Losi, the new GTX-S comes with window masks--making it much easier to paint. "

Oh man, I don't have this part number in the vintagelosi.com Extreme Parts List. Shame on me.

I find it odd that there wasnt a 'XX' based nitro truck, they went from the LXT based NXT straight to the XXX-NT....lucky for me really because then I would have to build one!

So are you going to do a rally weapon after this build then!?!?!? I dont think anyone has one on here!? Correct me if I am wrong.

Another thing, why didnt they call the Street Weapon the 'XX-S'? It makes sense and sounds better to me - XX, XXT, XX4, XX-S. Later we had XXX, XXX-T, XXX-NT, XXX-S...

Anyway, looking forward to this nitro Losi build...

A while back I sorta got an answer from a former Team Losi employee on this.
"The wider pivots (for gear clearance) and narrower arms made it much easier to get engine far enough back to get the correct wight distribution. "
Not sure if this really fully answered the question, in the context of my original question, on why based off LXT and not XXT. But there it is! :)

Maybe I typed it wrong, there's nothing wrong with the NXT or GTX, in fact it will be refreshing to see a nitro build, I was just a little curious as to why there wasn't a xx based nitro truck. Maybe the answer provided by mytimac is the real reason...

I love all the Losi cars, it's just the XX series were the ones I raced BITD, so have fond memories of them. I am little gutted I didn't get to experience the JRX series, a little before my time, and Losi werent that popular over in the uk for some reason until the XX came along. I remember the 1993 worlds and looking at a 'show' car that pops and jr where sitting with in a table. The one thing I remember most was seeing the gold shock shafts, damn I thought they were cool! Hehehee.

After watching the 2wd finals I went home wanting a XX, I got a deal to drive for the UK distributor, which is now also called Horizon, and have been with Losi ever since - I almost consider myself family hehee

Anyway, I've had a couple of beers and had better shut up and let you get this machine built!

when i raced at Ranch Pit Shop, there was a XXT prototype nitro truck that ran there, I am positive it was not a Losi prototype, but a very well built homebrew. i googled for a bit today, but didnt find any references to it.

I found some 8019 bodies on FleaBay night before last and ordered one - should be here next week but as shown in the picture, it doesn't have the spare.....

$15.00 shipped is worth a gamble to see what it looks like; but actually I could have waited with the $15 and looked at your picture! :) I'm still on the search for one with the spare; but not in any rush since I NOW have 2 bodies for it! This has got me 'interested' enouth that I may start digging around for parts; see if I'm short much of anything for the build.....
