First "old is new" build ~ help...ton of questions

Post by orangemazda »

I know there are tons of threads on OiN builds and I've read through several but didn't find all the answers I need so please be gentle :P . I'm collecting parts to do my first new is old build but I need some help as to what parts I need to collect.

I've got a chassis from Ebay that I intend to have powdercoated. I want to get the inside of the chassis milled on each side of the battery tray. Who can do this and what is an average price to do it?

I've Got a RC10T nose piece and front bulkhead

Who makes the wide front and rear arms? (Not the RPM ones, the custom ones). What rear arm blocks do I need to use with those rear arms? Do I need to cut the rear of the chassis narrow to accommodate the longer arms? If so, do I "eyeball it" or does someone have a jig so I know where to cut it?

Which universals do I use?
Which rear hubs and bearings do I use? I have zero experience with hex wheels. What do I need to make that happen front and rear?

Who makes the CF front shock tower (and matching rear) that is slightly wider then the stock 10T front tower?

I've got a good stealth tranny but I'd like to upgrade the slipper to handle a brushless setup (which I have ZERO experience with either).

Thanks guys in advance for your answers, you've inspired me to build something cool too.
