My Optima 'box art' attempt
Hi guys
Well, it took me ages! Certainly not perfect, but the best I can do with brushes. I found it really hard cutting the body/holes to mount it, as I didn't want to cock it up! Not the easiest of box art designs to do, as I'm sure anyone else that's attempted will agree.
Anyhoo, here a few pics, sorry not great quality. I haven't fitted the driver yet.
Thanks

That's some impressive work with brushes mate! I would be very happy to achieve anything like it
What colors did you use?

Re: My Optima 'box art' attempt
Thanks you mate! I just used Parma Fascolor. Standard blue with a bit of white in it, and the yellow has one or two drops of red in it. The yellow was REALLY thin, and you could see the brush strokes when close up, so I ended up backing it with a Tamiya yellow acrylic paint, which did the trick.j0pp3 wrote:That's some impressive work with brushes mate! Thanks ireg and Caesar!
Caesar, best of luck with the search, not too many decent ones available out there, they do come up now and again though.

Re: My Optima 'box art' attempt
Very good job on that. Although I'm not into the box-art replicas, even designing your own paint job for the Optima body is a challenge. It's not easy to trim and has so many intriguing scoops & body lines everywhere, but that's what makes it such an attractive body when it's painted well.

Thanks. Yes you're not wrong, not any easy body at all. I have another Optima chassis that needs a shell, don't think I'll be doing another box art though!!Coelacanth wrote:Very good job on that.
