Put a clutch in the Suzuki Samurai this weekend

Post by badhoopty »

i love my samurai.... its just a big tamiya 4x4 i can drive... 8)

i'm a wimp and i was able to bench the tranny in & out... i did use a jack to hold that sucker up there when trying to get it lined up and the bolts all started. it was far less frustration and effort changing the clutch in the samurai as it was just changing the 6 & 8 plugs in the transam.

it ended up having a broken throwout return spring, and i think thats what caused the old clutch to fail. of course it was late saturday night when i found out it had a broken return spring. and why is it that most dealerships are closed on sundays?... i just rigged the old one to work, total macguyver style.

and unlike my bitch car i didnt have to drive it on to a 2X4 just to get a jack under it... its pretty easy to get underneath something thats about 2 feet above ground. :D :D :D

the new clutch and flywheel grab like a mofo now. i got a petroworks hd clutch with a exedy pressure plate. i guess its a pretty good setup.

i always try to wear glasses, but it never fails that nomatter what, i'm bound to shoot either brake or carb cleaner right in my frigging eyes and face. you can see it coming back at you for a split second before realize whats going to happen and try to get your eyes closed it time... i was thinking if anybody ever tried to get me in my garage i could totally take them out with the mass assortment of shootable penetrants, lubricants, and cleaners i have at my disposal.

i'm ranting. i think i'm a little loopy..

and when did they start making yellow top liquid wrench so thick? it kinda wierds me out. it looks like zombie puss. do they make a zombie version of liquid wrench?
