Re: Palitoy Death Star Playset Replica
Wow I think I like the Palitoy version better - its an actual station that makes sense! Never liked the Kenner version myself.
Here's a question for you - I've got a vintage X wing, Tie Fighter and Snow Speeder. Problem is that they are falling apart and missing a few pieces as well as have some peeling decals. Do you know of anywhere to get replacements?
Hoping since you found this you might know off hand

Yeah, it's a neat version. I never even knew there was a different one until about 10 years ago.
As for your vintage toys, just like with this hobby, eBay is the place to go. There are lots of used (ususally incomplete) examples on there. You can also get repro decals and parts. Plus, there are even a few sellers who "waffle-ize" complete toys to sell the parts.
Good luck!

Re: Palitoy Death Star Playset Replica
That same link provided a few posts back http://www.erikstormtrooper.com/backgrnd.htm has a vehicles decal page and all your vehicles are there. I already downloaded Slave I as that is my worst toy as far as decals... they are just falling off. The older ones stayed on better but are all yellowed. Ebay is definitely a good source for parts... I am lucky that we have only one missing piece from all my toys from Episodes 4 & 5. In 1978 when we were on a camping trip with my parents my sister got the Princess Leia figure at a KMart on the road (I got Luke & R2D2). She threw away the package with Leia's blaster still taped inside. I've never let her live it down.RC104ever wrote:Here's a question for you - I've got a vintage X wing, Tie Fighter and Snow Speeder. Thanks Robert... I now have another project that I will never finish!

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

You're welcome, civilguy!
My daughter did that with a Barbie toy package a couple of years ago on Christmas morning. Guess what dad got to go searching through ALL the garbage the next day?
