RC velodrome no more

Post by farmer »

As some of you know my daughter plays club vollyball, Which takes us all over southern california. We play at places from olympic training centers to just old highschools, but this week was her championships which brought us to CAL State Dominguiz Hills. As some of us old folks know this is where they use to do RC speed challenges on the out side bike velodrome, I even went to a grateful dead show there back in the days, rite on the track, well inside the track. Sad news it is no longer! (something i didnt know ) it was distroyed in 2002 due to cracks in the cement, well they built a new one inside and its now made of wood, something like 3 miles of wood planks to make the new velodrome. I dont know if there will ever be any more speed challenges there. Well i thought id shoot a few pics to share with you of the new track, some a lil blurry
damn IPhone ,also this thing is supposed to have 45% banking
enjoy

i didnt race at dominguez hills, but i did race the velodrome in encino a few times...they kept us to 4 cells, it was funny putting a 48t pinion and 88t spur into a pan can and really really working the draft for a 4 minute race.
