Ok so I'm new to this stuff.
I have a castle sidewinder sv2 esc and a hobby wing motor 4000kv.
I'm putting it in my old rc10t for my son so i can bring him to a local track when i run my slash.
I bought the esc and motor used and i noticed it had no caps on it i plan on running it with the traxxas link radio out of my slash the slash now runs a 3pm.
I'm wondering how hard is it to set the esc to 1/2 throttle or other so he can start out slow with it and then build up.
Is the castle link all i need and then do i download something.
On top of that I was wondering should i put the traxxas vxl3 in his truck because it has the beginner mode and put the sv2 in my slash for racing? Would it be any better then the traxxas one? Someone said the traxxas one lets the lipos get too low before the the low voltage kicks in.
thanks for any and all advice.

Re: Castle brushless
The castle link does make life easier if you have it. If you have, or get the esc instructions from castle, I think you can make changes to the esc manually without the castle link.. You have to have patience and be able to tell what beeps are what, it can get confusing. I did that once with my mamba max a day before the castle link came in the mail. Have not done it manually since.
I think giving him the traxxas is a good idea, using the beginner mode seems to be an easy solution.

Re: Castle brushless
it would be nice if you could hook it up to the i phone and make adjustments.
