MINT Top Cat, never assembled

Post by Goatless »

I'm torn guys. I have 1 Top Cat, assembled, with period electronics, servo, and motor in it.

I have another Top Cat, which is a roller, with light use, few scratches on the bottom.

Finally, I have one more Top Cat, which is 98% complete from what I can tell. I just sorted all the parts, alot NIP original to the kit. I have the box and manual, just went thru the entire manual inventorying parts. The parts missing are definitely the stock white wheels (I have several new sets of 12 point star wheels) and the original front tires. I believe I have the rears.
I also have an original, never cut body shell.

I'm debating in selling these to fund a racing endeavor as we are looking to come out of an 8 year retirement. Even if I wanted to sell, I have no clue what to start a price at.

I know I'm not supposed to be asking for prices, to each is own, I understand that. The value lays with the buyer and his desire to have it. I guess what Im looking for is advice guys, HELP!! :?
Sell or not Sell????

It will definitely be a fund raiser out of any of them. Like you said, to everyone their own. I for one would sell it if you have others. i tend to keep runners since I know I will run them. I also go thru cycles to whats hot and whats not in my mind. I always have had a thing for the 4wd yokomos but would still sell the best one to get the most to fund my racing endeavour if that is what I was wanting to do at the time...you tell me if it was worth my $.02

Are you a runner or a shelfer? If your a runner sell the best one and keep the other two. One to run and one for parts.
If your a shelfer, finish the nice one and sell the other 2.

Thats what I would do.

These, I would probably shelf with the rc10 im building. Both would be new, never assembled projects. Then again, there is that vintage class I'd love to run. Im betting nobody is running a Top Cat,lol
