Losi JR-xt video from 1990 when I was a kid
Losi JR-xt video from 1990 when I was a kid
I guess this can be called a vintage video of a vintage Losi.
Anyway I found this tape the other day of Christmas 1990 and in it was about 20 min footage of when I got my JR-XT. There is a sound error but I will fix it down the road, I may just replace it with youtube's sound dub thing. I just couldn't wait to edit the video and post it on youtube. The dog part is in there because I placed stacks of RC Magazines in front of my parents to remind them what I wanted that year plus I thought it was funny.
Enjoy

Thanks All for the responses.
What I did was buy a composite (it also comes with Svideo) USB video DVD converter which enables you to connect your VCR into your USB port in the computer. That was my Christmas present this year (Mainly because I found a box of over 50 VHS tapes in it while searching for my old parts in storage. Sorry i love telling the whole story, but I love describing. (also notice the calculator watch I was wearing) lolI was a huge fan of them.
Anyway I knew some of my old videos were lurking in that box plus the memories back then. And believe it or not this device cost under $40 (great quality and sound, sound was doubled at times because I had like 10 applications running and forgot to shut off my virus protection.) But the point is see if you all have any old tapes, buy and adapter (also old VCR from pawn shop or if yours still works or just buy a device that has VHS built in) and you will be surprised on the videos. And the great thing is that it can covert to instant DVD or any digital file.
God rest my grandfather's soul, he always helped me build my cars when I had trouble, he was a retired engineer and directed me alot. That was him always checking up on me with it. Notice in the end of the video I was routing through my RC 12L box sorry for rambling and thanks for watching again. Also the end of the video is the same exact car and is ready to run, just waiting to get that secure bracket for the bellcrank and a new battery.
I still got 10+ Tapes to go
Cheers

Cool video MrBeno..... I think its that almost uncontrollable excitement of recieving your desired R/C car on Christmas day (or for a birthday).... & subsquent hurried build, thats been captured in your film... its that same excitement that we are trying to re-live today by re-building these old cars that we either owned or so desired back then that it almost 'hurt'! LOL
Best bit in your video is when you've just opened the kit in front of the Xmas tree - the box all crisp with that tightly wrapped cellophane....
P.S; you looked like the typical teenager, rarely smiling lol!

Great hair!!
Seriously though, what an excellent video! That must bring back so many memories, I wish I had something similar for when I got my Optima Mid Custom.
