Need help with my Boxter Project!

Post by liquorboxracing »

I need help! I have stalled on my Boxter Project. ( The RC10 Box Art Replica ) I have the chassis pretty well rounded out with the exception of a few items. I need to know if anyone can identify the Airtronics Receiver that is on the car on the side of the box? If anyone knows what model receiver that is please let me know. I have been looking for old Airtronics receivers on the bay, but have come up with nothing. I am really searching blind as I do not really know exactly what I am looking for. Can anyone help? I really want to keep this project moving if I can. Thanks in advance.

i did some studying of the reciever on the box. the number on the box looks like 92320. also looks like it says 53 band. maybe you could e-mail airtronics to see if that was a valid number. then i did some quick looking on ebay, and found this. i don't know what the number on it is, but the case looks almost identical.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&item=220028948886&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

i e-mailed the seller and he said the number on the case is 92222, and it's 72 band AM.

it's close, but if you look at the reciever on the box, the batt. input is at the top of the case, not directly above the steering and throttle. the crystal position on the box is more to the left. that's kind of a good thing, cause if it wasn't, you probably wouldn't be able to tell it was even an airtronics.

Scr8p! Look at your box and see if it looks like the double sided tape is actually doubled up under the Novak ESC! Do you think there is two layers of double sided tape there? ( Also I do need some of the original double sided tape. What do you want for it? PM me and let me know! ) Also! How did you do a search for that radio Scr8p? I've been searching under vintage Airtronics, and vintage radios, but I totally missed that auction!

Thanks for the help so far guys! I am going to give Airtronics an email tonight and see what I come up with!

ya, the 2 sided tape is doubled up so that the esc case could clear the 2 upper shock tower screws. send me a pm with your address and i'll send some to ya.

i just searched under airtronics. there was something about the listing that made me click on it, and there it was. i was hoping you would see the link, cause your search probably would have been over. :(

Yeah I didn't get home until late tonight and it was over when I clicked on it! It's a bummer! But hey there will be another one! Same with all this old RC stuff! :D You'll have a PM here shortly!
