Re: TRX-1 Build - In Progress....
ya i kinda like them. im not much on white parts per say... all the parts are original, i liked this build alot, didnt cost me a arm and a leg really. only parts im keeping white are the battery parts. might even buy the black strap from tower and sell off the white one. since i dont care much for it, gonna see how it looks with the top brace once i get it.
Re: TRX-1 Build - In Progress....
What did you use for tunbuckles? I have some stockers but they're a bit rough.

Re: TRX-1 Build - In Progress....
Progress update:
Assembled it all up here. better pictures later, these were taken with the terrible Blackberry Bold 9930 camera, sucks bad!
Body painted to be similiar to the RCCA cover from 92, waiting on some white yatabe and red rcca decals to be printed soon to finish it out.
Plan to run the car here, but maybe not with this body lol. always liked the body lines and this paint job, think it came out great and something different

Great job Mike.
I have always had a love afair with the TRX-1. Not because I ever got to see it on the track in person but because it had such an iconic look back in the day.

Re: TRX-1 Build - ALMOST Done.
Hi Mike
gorgeous flaming job!!! I think a few touches of blue on the chassis would match the main body color nicely. Sweet custom ride now finished, talk about a thread resurrection in style!
Interesting I ran my TRX1 this weekend... I decided to finally spend the right amount of time setting the diff/slipper pair properly. The sweet spot on the diff is ridiculously narrow, it only takes 1/8th of a turn to go from way too stiff to slipping - thank god it can be set in a breeze. The slipper is quite outdated in design too, again, the tuning window is rather narrow.
But once this thing is set up, boy it sure rocks... the plushness of the suspension is amazing even by today's standards. I ran it on the paved driveway at my place, a few tree roots are creating undulations on the surface, and the trx1 would glide or smoothly jump over them so smoothly. Shame my track time is so low these days otherwise I'd actually have taken her to a true race see what she can still do
