Re: New Tamiya releases
Tamiya was letting me down but I see there are a few cool things they got going now.
58509 1/12 Toyota TOM’S 84C (new RWD-chassis)
58505 VW Scirocco GT24-CNG (FF-03)
58503 Honda Ballade Sports Mugen CR-X PRO (M-05 Chassis)
84255 1/10 TA05 M-Four Chassis Kit
From tamiyablog.com
The 84C's chassis looks like a RC12l. Wonder if they're gonna re-re all those old 1/12 scale bodies on this new chassis. I'm glad they are coming out with older cars that I wished they made long ago like the CRX and Scirocco. The M-Four looks like a mini TA05 which I think could be sweet.

Re: New Tamiya releases
It'd be great if they'd also redo the Porsche 956 body and bring out all the decal sets, Rothmans, Newman, Skoal, But I'm sure the tobacco references won't let them be made......Like the Rothmans logo's becoming "Racing" logos....

Re: New Tamiya releases
I know. I always thought that was stupid with the no tobacco advertisments. Like "Marlboro" being replaced with just black lines that look like a barcode. I'm sure Tamiya will release the 956/962 body, we'll just have to use repro decals or find old Parma or Autographics ones.mrhemi1971 wrote:It'd be great if they'd also redo the Porsche 956 body and bring out all the decal sets, Rothmans, Newman, Skoal, But I'm sure the tobacco references won't let them be made......Like the Rothmans logo's becoming "Racing" logos....

Re: New Tamiya releases
I sure do hope that they will re-release the 956 body; then I can have all 3 liveries (I have the vintage optional decal sheet) and a runner body.

Thats what I was trying to say in a way.ROH73 wrote:The Lunchbox and Midnight Pumpkin are based on the original Pajero.
The original Wild Willy, Willy's Wheeler, Audi Quattro Rally and Opel Ascona 400 Rally all share a completely different chassis.
So, Tamiya really should keep the name Willy out of the new Pajero.
Re: New Tamiya releases
Can you find a Meyer's Manx? Or one of the Australian dune buggy kits, my dad is in the middle of turning a 64 bug into a fiberglass dunebuggy. But it's not a Meyer's, those thing fetch some crazy high prices.bearrickster wrote:ireg wrote:this one i like

Re: New Tamiya releases
Oh for crying out loud they did the same thing as they did with the terrible Holiday buggy re-release.
I'll admit though the Sand Rover body looks a heck of a lot better on it for some reason.
From this angle it looks like the wheelbase is too long.
If thats the case I would like to see someone produce some swept back and shorter arms. This way it would cure both the wheelbase being way off, and the track width being too wide.

Re: New Tamiya releases
All of this is true but I it still looks pretty cool. I feel its one of the coolest most realilistic looking buggy out their. not including the SRB's but I love dunebuggys. I even had a real one just like this one for a while. I wish I could have kept it.Lowgear wrote:Oh for crying out loud they did the same thing as they did with the terrible Holiday buggy re-release.

I may be up for one of these. I've been a big 1G CR-X/3G Civic fan for years.
I just wish they would have used the correct Mugen Fortran "Asso" or CF-48 wheels:
