Re: Electrix buggy?
Damn it I hate it when I accidentally refresh the page, and lose everything I've written.
Anyway, the jest of it was:
I have read peoples reviews, and they seem quite pleased with it. They have a couple of versions. The one called the "Circuit" is the stadium truck version. I was thinking of buying one for giggles a while back, but never got around to it.
Here's a good review of it: (although, maybe it's biased, seeing as they sell it?)

I think it's probably a safe bet for a little kid's first RC. (especially at $120!)

Here's a review on the Circuit ST. (most of it will apply to the Boost buggy, too)

Re: Electrix buggy?
A local hobby shop here has them. I looked at the buggy once. You can tell that from a design standpoint that it is made to resemble the current buggy offerings but the materials is where it is vastly different. The plastics used a far softer. While this may mean the car isn't as stiff, the flexibility of the materials should mean that it can takes lots of abuse without breaking. That should make it a good first car for a kid to bash around with. You can't adjust camber links or anything but kids aren't going to worry about that. You could always add ball cups and links anyways.

Re: Electrix buggy?
The only downside I've seen with the car is the plastic motor plate, it's hard to keep the gear mesh secure. The plastic gets soft when it heats up, letting the motor move and usually results in a stripped spur gear. They are really durable besides that though.

I also looked at the buggy version at my LHS for my son (he's 9), but I passed on it. I think I'd rather buy him a b3 or 4 that CAN take some abuse

Re: Electrix buggy?
I don't think there's much concern on whether the Boost can take abuse or not... it's made of flexible plastics that won't break too easy. For the most part, I'm pretty sure a race-based buggy would break long before this would. (more stiff generally equals more brittle) Parts support might be more of a concern to me, however. But then again, I'm sure a hobby shop that sold it would also carry parts for it.

Re: Electrix buggy?
These are well worth the asking price.
One of our LHS's has sold several - buggy, stadium truck, and the "monster truck" versions. They run pretty good (one kid was dominating the novice class with his stadium truck version) and they are plenty tough for bashing or racing. I say great choice for a kid's first R/C.

The review on youtube is more of an informercial than anything else, it looks... not saying it's a bad product, but for 50% more you can get a RTR B4... which might take SLIGHTLY less abuse but will no doubt be a much much better ride. The vid shows a mabuchi-slow, bumpy truck
