I bought this one off of the 'bay last week (Maybe someone here?) to use for a future project, got it in the mail a couple days ago, washed the dust off of it today, and noticed that the "A" stamp on the chassis looks as if it were stamped twice. The anno is that cool dark satin gold. The previous owner drilled a few extra holes I'd like to get welded up (anybody looking for work?) Or should I just leave it alone? Has anybody else had one or seen one like this?
I can't get that lucky, besides, I'm sure this isn't the only one out there. I just thought it was neat. The nose plate attached to it was the brighter gold color, and this was more of a dark satin gold. Would that be a later "A" or did it vary during production?

I had one with a double stamp, i think a few of them were made, but the again i dont know much about this stuff lol
This is my black anodized A stamped chassis. From the research i've done Associated took old stock of their gold pans, drilled them for the Stealth, and then anodized them black and sold them as replacements. Theres also a problem with the finish on...

i just figured you'd get bombarded with pm's about buying them.
Ok so I have both a xl1 stampede and rustler. Both running a 19t pinion and the same spur gear. The rustler is running a 20t traxxas stinger and a novak explorer 2 and a matched cell battery. The pede is running an old stock no name black can motor...

If this black can motor is the rebuildable kind, it could very well be a trinity onyx series (mod) motor minus it's label. At one time trinity coded thier motors by color. The onyx series was painted black. It was a 14t double wound motor....and...
Hi all, So I pulled out my vintage 6010 model I build when I was a kid and passed it down to my 12 yo son. We went bashing for a bit and ended up losing one of the dogbones #6370 and the spring #6372 as one the the buckles came undone. I've been...

Well, how about that! You're right.
The 02003 is slightly shorter pin to pin than 6370 (55mm vs 57.25mm) and the pins are slightly smaller (2mm vs 2.38mm ) but it's certainly close enough. The ball diameter is about spot on.
Stuff identified in the 25 years thread as an early Edinger:
Milled towers
Less material on spindles
A stamped on bottom (but also on top)
Bell crank same on both sides
Things that aren't identified as early in the 25 years thread
Hex's...

Thought of this thread when a collegue here at work, over the weekend was crowned World 'Conkers' Champion... which is an event held every year locally!
& for anyone wondering what the game of 'conkers' entails;
I took the Jrx-Pro SE out racing this last weekend. I was testing the Bell Cranks under race conditions.
During the 10minute main the buggy just came to a stop. The motor would run but the slipper was slipping and not moving the input shaft.
I...

The layshaft is fine, the diff gear was replaced. Probably would have been useable in a pinch though. If it had been 2.61 truck gear I probably would have saved.
Before this I had never really destroyed any gears in my transmission cases. All the...
