Kyosho Outrage MK II - shocks
Hello,
I'm new in this forum and found it through google while looking for some informations about spare parts for our Kyosho Outrage MK II. I bought it new a few years ago at ebay and still working on it from time to time. It's a great buggy, and also the children love to play with it.
In the RC10talk.com forum I found the most information about the Outrage and Ultima Buggy. Thats why I register from Germany to this page.
The main question I have is the shock absorber. The ones who are assembled (Kyosho SM-19 / same front and back with different springs) look not very stable and I was thinking to exchange the front ones. In the manual they recomend W-5141(S) Sports Shocks as optional parts.
In different explanation and experiences I read that Ultima parts also fit.
Does anybody know if the W-5001(S) or W-5003 (S) from the Ultima models would fit? The W5002 and W-5004 are labeled with L. I'm not sure if the measurements from the original Outrage shocks are the same.
I suppose that the Ultimate parts are better.
Maybe this changes helps to get the car better on track. It is nowadays not possible to get it run at one line. Always a drift to one side.
Thanks for your help, and greetings!

Hi, and welcome to RC10 Talk
Is it important that it’s Kyosho chocks, if not you can find several of aftermarket shocks on eBay that will fit.

Hello Lars,
Thanks for your quick respond.
No it is not a must to use Kyosho parts, if the quality is good.
I have not found parts with the same measurements from other companies.
I have the feeling Kyosho has some special measurements.
But if there are suggestions, I will compare. The measurements from the built in parts I have.
Greetings,
Bernd

A few millimeters plus or minus in length doesn’t make a big different on the handling of the car.

Re: Kyosho Outrage MK II - shocks
I think the Outrage has a smaller rear shock tower than the Utlima versions. So you'll probably need the shocks marked (S) for the rear. You can upgrade your Outrage with an Ultima shock tower (not the original Utlima) and use the shocks marked (L). Basically, the small shocks are 3 inch and the large are 4 inch.

Hello RichieRich,
That is also my opinion, that the S versions should fit. I hope the diameters for the screws etc. are identical.
Also good to know the size in inch. I was always looking for mm.
I will stay with the S Version at the rear side. Thats good enough - and too many changes.
But thanks to all of you for your input.
