- * For real?!
- * FML (with or without the finger-gun to the head)
- * So... (I can't stand a conversation started with that. "So... I was driving down the street...")
- * I know, right?
- * Pick 'em Up Truck
- * How fast does it go? It doesn't matter if you can't handle it. (RC or real car)

Re: Sayings or phrases that need to die
Thanks for sharing, that's some funny reading! I have a feeling we're all guilty of some of those that irk others.
As far as "douche" being such a good word for some people, why exactly is that? There's a lot of other words that would work just as well, or better, and have more meaning to boot. One that I've always liked that never got over-used (as far as I know) is the phrase, "You, sir, are an asshat."

I see two of our members did not pass the Pepsi Challenge.scr8p wrote:damn righttsan wrote: It's always Coke)
Pepsi >Coke.
Unless of course we're talking Mexican or European Coke where they use real sugar. Then Coke wins. I'm lucky, the new bodega that opened on my corner sells Mexican Coke, you know the old school glass bottle kind. Sooo good. My dentist is gonna love me.
Buuuut, about 2 miles away is another bodega that sells Mexican Coke and Mexican Pepsi. When I feel like treating myself I go for a little bike ride. That stuff is the best ever.

Re: Sayings or phrases that need to die
I think you might be right. Pepsi throwback in the can is good, and in the plastic bottle it's a little better. But Mexican Pepsi in the glass bottle is about the tastiest drink I've ever had.Charlie don't surf wrote:You know I think that its the glass that makes it taste like that more than the sugar-

I know that there are a thousand psychiatrists that would say we are locked in eternal adolescence collecting rc cars, bikes etc. But I remember what Pepsi in a glass bottle tasted like 25 years ago, I can't remember what the coke I just drank tasted like-MelvinsArmy wrote:I think you might be right. Re: Sayings or phrases that need to die
You're totally right. I had the exact same experience when I had my first sugar Pepsi and Coke. I can't remember which one I had first, but I know I commented to the person that I was with that "this is what pop tastes like!" I was immediately transported to my childhood. I remembered that taste like I had it yesterday, when in reality I think about 20 years had passed. It was amazing.

2. Douche/douche-bag. I remember this insult making the rounds when I was in junior high. Let's see, that would've been around '81, '82. It didn't really catch on then. Now, it's WAY too over-used. When radio personalities, newscasters and even PARENTS are flogging this word to death, it's time to put it to rest. It's no longer cool.
lol ive only once been called that on the internet or in person. was in basic training and a female MTI called me a d-bag because i had the zipper flap thing untucked at the very bottom of my rain rain parka. caught me off guard to say the least.
you still hear a few "shake and bake" comments at the local track but git-er-done just isnt said. its such a cliche if you ask me.
i actually use a number of the phrases listed (yes, even "president" obama)
also hate when people use "like" a lot in conversations. had a girlfriend in high school who did that, maybe that has like something to do with it or like something.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
