870c dream

Post by GJW »

one of my favorite part's of any rc car is it's box art and i am extremely lucky to have one of the best from back in the day the "870c". many hour's were spent in hobby shop's looking up at this very expensive race kit from yokomo, way to pricey but a boy could dream. finally picked up this very nice example, complete with espirit motor :P the box is very tidy which arrived with a lot of dust and grime over it but not anymore

Not all. In fact, I'd suggest it's only a very tiny percentage of hobbyists willing to fork out the ridiculous sums of money to own something in a box that was never opened...only to never open it.

True, I figure people who buy NIB stuff like this (or rare unopened Nintendo games and such) do it as an investment...and probably only to resell at a profit later on. :)

While I can understand that mode of thinking, it's not for me. Just like buying rare automobiles or drums or cymbals only to keep them in garages or behind glass cases doesn't do anything for me. Those things are meant to be enjoyed, but of course different people get enjoyment from different things. :)
