Re: 1984 Fever!!
I hate to be the one to derail this topic, since there are others here much better at it than I, but it is quite amazing that even though we all congregate here due to vintage RC, a lot of our other interest are common as well. Between Vintage RC, BMX, and now punk rock, this place gets better every day.Charlie don't surf wrote: Seemed more fitting than Juliana Theory, or Sunny Day Real Estate-
My music of choice to be jammin in that Supra though would most likely be the Bouncing Souls or Face to Face. If however I was feeling the need to be depressed, Dashboard Confessional or Saves the Day would fit the bill. If you wanted to be vintage about it - Black Flag or DK's

I like Bouncing Souls and Face to Face too. How about my two personal faves - Bad Religion and NOFX. What about the cross between vintage and punk - who knows Me First and the Gimme Gimmes?

I am pretty sure that the first good drive will start with Jets to Brazil- Orange Rhyming Dictionary, Chinatown.
You what I really miss about "vintage punk", is that 10 years ago I could tell if you were into the same music scene if you had chuck taylors' and had somehow gotten lucky enough to find an old set of black heavy framed glasses and if you were wearing a western shirt. Now every 15 year old looks like that, and they look at me like I am some old dude.

Re: 1984 Fever!!
I know what you mean. There's nothing sadder than a 30something trying to dress like a teenager. On rare trips to the mall I see it and I'm embarrassed to be in the same food court. I still remember the day I had to succumb to reality and give up my style. But hey, novelty t-shirts and jeans are very comfortable!Charlie don't surf wrote:I am pretty sure that the first good drive will start with Jets to Brazil- Orange Rhyming Dictionary, Chinatown.

kinda like if you met me face to face and how you'd look at me .Charlie don't surf wrote: and they look at me like I am some old dude.
I'm thinkin along the lines of a must have in that car is some Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Tesla hairband music. You wanna borrow some of my cassettes .
Looks good Reggie. I'm liking that no rust situation you have going on there. Up til a year ago I wasn't interested in anything unless it had 100k+ miles on it and rust on at least one part of it. Run it over to scr8p and have him work his magic on it. Pry only cost you a worlds car and change .

Re: 1984 Fever!!
I think I wanna go for a drive in my Grand National with Karma Chameleon blaring from the stereo, just to see people's faces. I can't think of too many things that are THAT wrong together!

Re: 1984 Fever!!
Yeah, but..................if you got some pink and teal Oakley Blades, a purple t-shirt and a pair of guess jeans in a proper GN- then, you can still lite up most other cars light to light- Not as much in the Supra ( now )
