Well in all seriousness. I agree with the durability of my slash 4x4. Got it used and put it thru hell and the only thing broke was an arm from my daughter landing a backwards 25'...believe me it deserved to break...it was horendous  . There is just not alot of modding you can do to these things. One of the guys I run with put a rear shocktower on front along with rear shocks so he could asborb the bumps a little better but otherwise...

Anything can be modded. :) One just has to think outside the box and not merely improve the original design, but re-design it so it has a completely different function. There's no reason to take a truggy, mod it, only to end up with a truggy. ;)

I still have our 2 original slash trucks, one even came with the 2.2 wheels (before that aweful offset wheel crap). We beat the crap out of those trucks, but eventually graduated into "race" vehicles. We have gone through a few bodies

BUT, I will say, I will put an RTR HPI Blitz up against a slash any day for durability...heck, I have yet to break a single part on my "fragile" Blitz ESE (2+ years of racing it).

Here is some SPAM pics for the thread:

Gave it a little too much "juice" down the straight :)

Yep, painted on the outside before clear bodies were available:

My buddy bought a Slash and it truly got me back into the hobby. It made me go out and dig out my old cars and buy a T4 and a B4 I am an Associated guy and probably will stay that way. I appreciate that the Slash is a heavy duty machine. It comes with all the heavy parts already that do not break as often. I have been running my Associated cars a B4 a T4 with his Slash and mine break more often, but lets face it the Associated cars are designed for drivers who dont hit everything and are made to be more lightweight. I really respect the Slash for the fact that it is a heavy duty car that will take a beating. I suppose the stigma for me comes from the fact that all the vehicles in the day you had to assemble and the Traxxas were ready to run like a tyco or radio shack toy. Back in the day it seemed like that made them toys and not serious.... my 2 cents

LHS had a great dirt track out back.

Traction was tough to find though... :D

These pics were taken a long time ago. The trucks have taken quite a beating since then and are still unfazed..

It was actually a lot of fun to drive. It's amazing how much better it handled on the track!
that is pretty sick....
