I have a rc10 C stamp in decent shape I want to make A runner out of is it safe to do the peroxide parts clean or does it weaken the parts in any way also it has a cracked rear a-arm mount where would I find one
Its been a concern whether or not peroxiding parts breaks down the plastics molecular structure but you'd have to do some pretty extensive testing to find out for sure. If you're that worried you can always boil them afterward as that should help.
Does anyone use whitened parts on theyre runners or just purely for the shelf?
I know there can be strength issues with the white nylon parts sometimes as it is even thou i havent had any concerns as of yet!
Does the peroxide treatment radically...

no we don't but we have spatula city. the rest of the world is jealous!
Most of the time when I am restoring aluminum parts, I go down one of two paths: 1) leave them with a scuffed (scothbrite) look, or 2) polish them shiny. I like both of these looks, but for what I am working on now, I would like to get to...

Most aluminum parts you get will be tumbler polished, so that all the edges are broken and flash removed. So it's likely that's the original finish.
Hey there.. just got my first RC10, its in ok shape but will need some parts & serious tlc to bring it up to standard.. its only taken me 25 odd years to get one of these! Need some adivice on what to use to get the parts looking as good as they can...
I've been gathering RPM parts for a while now. I have a used 91 worlds front end kit and cleaned it up with super clean and everything was great. I took a yellowed 10t front bulkhead and did the peroxide bath and all went well. I tend to get...

What does the distilled water do? Does the lack of minerals and boiling help them come back somewhat. Almost like a cleansing?
Hey guys I have been a member here for a while and dont post a whole lot but enjoy restoring and collecting RC10s just the same. My qustion is how long should you wait to reassemble the whitened plastics on the chassis. The reason I ask is because...

Just out of curiosity, what is the process for using peroxide? Just soak? If so, how long?
Do a search in the forum, there is a whole post on how to do it.
So I read the forum about the hydrogen peroxide trick and it seemed to work really well. I read the whole forum but it seems that it didn’t answer the question... Does it actually work? I saw that it makes the parts super white but does it also make...

I hear you can fume off CA glued tires with acetone. Put some acetone...
So after reading the threads I found on Google my trx1 was left to soak in some 6% hydrogen peroxide in a jar. It's been in there for almost a week and there doesn't seem to be much or any improvement. It's sat on the window sil inside and when I'm...

Thanks for posting up the process. The parts were always a bit off white, nearly ivory. Your results look great and seem natural for the process.
I think a lot of the nylon whiting is informed by whitening bones. Seeing an alternate to the...
Has anyone tried peroxiding pan car wheels with foams attached? Will it have a negative effect on the foam if I submerged the wheels in peroxide and water?

My goal is to whiten the mesh wheels. They have turned a bit yellow and looks from being in a smoking environment. The foams are new looking but hardened with age. I want to clean the car and keep it original because it may have held some historical...
