What's your favorite way to bash?

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

Ok, I know that a lot of the members here do not exactly have the need for speed anymore(I’m one of you).

I’ve run just about every brushless combo at one time or another and it just gets old.

I like to take any version of the RC10 under the sun and run it this way:

Take a Johnson 540 motor and put in the largest spur/smallest pinion you can find.

Then just start walking.

You can take it down steps, up curbs, in and out of ditches or just run circles around yourself. Donuts are always fun too…

Trust me. It’s the most fun you can have with a 2wd buggy.

My wife likes to take walks, and occasionally I feel obligated to go with her. I simply grab my radio and a B3(always cheap)along with a 6000mah lipo, bag motor and pretty much any esc. It will run close to an hour before the lipo reaches dangerous levels. BE CAREFUL though. At small speeds it’s hard to tell when voltage drop starts occurring. We live out in the boonies so there’s not many people watching, but when they do…

“Honey, there’s some weirdo with a beer, a dog and some sort of gadget walking down the road. He’s running a toy car all over the place.

Ohh! He ran over his wife’s foot.

Now she’s yelling at him…

Aww, he’s down on his knees.

Whoa! Now she’s down on her knees!

Honey, get my pitcher takin’ machine!!”

Peace and tranquility my friends. Enjoy the small moments that life’s not kickin’ your ass… 8)

There's a stretch of new paved dead end road about five minutes away perfect for high speed runs. It will be gone when they build the new hospital.

Nice pic! Our road is a dead end, way out and very lightly used. They re-paved it a couple years ago which made things really nice.

If I'm in the mood for speed I find the 1/10th Losi Slider a great choice. It's the only car I've ran with a Mamba Max 5700 that's very controllable. It's very stable and wheelies on demand without shakiness. I highly recommend it. Great value too. :D

When I bash I do it with my TMAXX. For the ridiculous price I got it for a few years ago, it has been the most fun for the money I have spent on RC. When I take it out its full throttle until it breaks or I am bored!

I like to run laps down the sidewalk and back up the street. Takes about 7 seconds per lap (maybe less IDK). I like to get into the rythem or zone of running laps even though they are very short laps. The sidewalk is skinny and the "corners" are different, one is a intersection and the other is my driveway, so there is enough varity to keep it interesting for an entire battery pack. Also, I use the sewer manhole cover as a little jump

I enjoy it best after one beer but before three.

PS-It's always a RC10, right now using a team car.

most of the time i bash in the yard with my pro mod clodbuster (cpe terminator).
sometimes i'll run the tamiya's in the street, but mostly it's the clod and my big azz hill of a yard.

the rest of my collection is strictly vintage race / modern race cars that only see track time, which i rarely have anymore.

6 months ago my wife and I sold up our place in the city and bought a 100 acre bush block in northern NSW.One of the first things I did was grind an RC track in with my tractor. Its been great finally having my own track but is now undergoing a major revamp. My father in law droped of an ASV 30 bobcat for me to use and I have allmost completed the new layout which has a large dirt oval.I also prepared a site for my hobby room which will overlook the track.Heres a pic of my track before I tore it up with the bobcat.
