aren't they just a 3/4" 4-40 socket cap screw?

.78 is just a bit longer than a 3/4"

the first version of the manual I have is a revision A. it lists the upper shock mount screws as 3/4"
The revision C manual as well as the production release JRX-T manuals list the size as 7/8"

could it have something to do with the width of the shock collars (old style vs. new style)? were all of the upper shock mounts the same length?

a thicker shock tower might have been the reason for needing a longer screw.............. maybe.
