My brother's RC10

Post by fordtransman »

I have waited 20 years to do this for my brother...

Just before he stopped racing his RC10 (6010) Caddy..

He converted to stadium truck before the fad was in place. He still had the buggy spec front wheels on it with Andy's arms all around.

He bought an Genuine Associated Baja body to paint up Ivan Stewart style (Similar to the Tamiya Hilux)

About 7 years ago, I found the body in the rafters (so to speak) at my moms house, still uncut and for the most part rather tweaked. I had to cut it out and trim away some material near the air-inlet (above the shock towers) to keep the body from tweaking any more... He had painted the wheel from the inside with Testors model paint. :)

I swore I would replace the body and complete the mission for him someday.

In the past 5 years, 2 bodies on eBay have come and gone above what I could pay.

Today was the day. Its on its way bro...

$18.00 was the retail back in 1990. :)

The auction ended at 38.00 plus shipping...
The last one I saw on ebay a year ago was 85.00

I think the final bids were held back because there are some repros out right now.

If anyone wants a reproduction, Team Bluegroove has them for 29.99 BIN with 10.00 shipping. Go look for them on eBay now.

I wanted an original to replace a damaged original.

I got lucky I guess.

Nice find; patience is a virtue when it comes to E Bay; and your story is a perfect example of that!
