Rc10 Graphite need some help please

Post by Domb1972 »

Hello all

I was hoping yall could help me out , I have been building, racing rc cars since 1985 (I was 12) Anyway in the early 90's I purchased a RC10 Graphite and I built a sprint car it was a proven winner and one of the baddest cars around.
Anyway I sold that car to a guy at the old track in the mid 90's bought a bass boat and started chasing a dream (fishing tournaments) I did this till last year (I retired from the tournament circuit, but still fish for fun)

Anyway I am back into RC cars and man has time changed the game Lipo,brushless,etc..... To much for me to take in lol so I just droped 200.00 on a old school RC10 graphite on e-bay (won it today) and my plan is to build my old sprint car again, but for the life of me I can not remember what I used

I am confused I have a vague memory of BIG BOY TOYS selling a conversion kit which consisted of the nylon roll cage and a graphite chasssis OR did I just cut down my rc10 graphite chassis ? Or did I use a custom works nylon cage and cut it down to fit my cut down rc10 graphite chassis ? I know how stupid but that was 20 years ago LOL

So my question is this can I purchase a Custom Works enforcer nylon cage , cut down the sides on my RC10 graphite chassis and mount the cage to it I remember having to cut the front of the cage and mounting the two down bars to my rc10 front shock tower. and I was able to use the Custom works enforcer body and wing it fit perfect. But then again I remember running a STEALTH tranny but the RC10 Graphite comes with the old 6 gear so did I drill the graphite chassis for the stealth tranny or did I use a Big Boy Toys Graphite chassis? I really want to build this car again so could I just drill the RC10 Graphite chassis to fit a STEALTH tranny ? Is there a template online somewhere I could print out to use?

Any help in this build would be greatly aprrecieated. I know I sound retarted but I did build this car but so many years have passed and I have been 100% dedicated to bass fishing over the last 15 years that I have just plain forgot.

I have searched the bew for the BIG BOYS TOYS conversion kit but only brings up there vintage aluminum one and I know for a fact mine was nylon cage and looked like the enforcer but I was able to adjust caster.camber, and grip becuase I was running on a outdoor oval the RC10 Suspension would allow me to dial this car in and it would flat out fly hooked up.

I am going to look for a Stealth trans on ebay right now

Thanks Dom

PS here is a pic of my Vintage RC10 this is not the one I am building a sprint car out of I just purchased a true RC10 Graphite to build the sprint car this is my built baby It has a graphite chassis,Rare mint MRP Funco body, alum steering,Andy's front and rear arms and bumper I have held on to this car for years hope yall like it.
