My RC10B2 races restoration.
Ok, started this new built because I had all the parts ready for it. This is my B2 racer back when it came out. This was the car that made me shelve the tub RC10. I had it converted into a B3 later on and decided to restore it back to a B2 because I believe it had more historical significance than the B3. Don’t get me wrong I love the B3 but the B2 was the first radical change production car and it won the ’95 WORLDS. I really thing this is a very interesting car.
Hope you like it !

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Some more pics, I need to take some more in the sun light next time to get more details. This car was a great racer and I remember my first race with it I took the first place on the A-main. The B3 came out really quickly after the B2 and that’s why this one is still in very good shape (plus it has a couple of new parts like chassis, front tower, ball cups and front arms).

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Nice, the B3 made the car understeer while the B2 made oversteer available. I proved a point in the UK indoor nats and proved that I could keep with the 4wd biggies easily. I only lost the A on the last lap against a heavily modded YZ10 on high grip grey carpet. My favourite car and I now have a B£ which I have restored thanks to Tom. B2 is my favourite 2wd car.

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Haven't updated this one in a long time, this car was my original B2 that I had updated during the time I was racing it. Now it is sporting a new short chassis and got the original tires on it and for the moment got a B3 body.

That's a good looking B2! I like the original RC10 but the B2's and B3's are what really get me excited

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
I know. Makes me grin (even when I'm losing) in the local racing scene when everyone has a B4 and my B3 is tearing around and holding its own. Of course I'm using a brushed motor and nimhs vs their lipo/brushless setup so who knows what she's capable of?Daddeo wrote:That's a good looking B2! Nice pics and ride, Miguel.

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Are you going to replace any more parts on your B2 to newer parts? I myself am workng on a b2 project. Picked it up for $75 on ebay! But just needs alot of work. Just curious if you were going to do a full resto? Or partial? Know of a place where I can buy 2 B2 unpainted bodies? Thanks!

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
The B2 was produced for a very short time, and as a result the shells NIP are quite rare. The B3 shells work howevervintagercfreak wrote: Know of a place where I can buy 2 B2 unpainted bodies? Thanks!

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
This B2 was my last race car and I will be keeping it as you see above. this car is almos completely restores now. I will probable change the body in the future if I cna get my hands on a new one. As Charlie don't surf mentions the B2 bodies are very hard to find so I have a B3 on it now.vintagercfreak wrote:Are you going to replace any more parts on your B2 to newer parts? I am going to be working on a B3 soon, fell free to ask any questions and good luck with your restore.

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Nice Miguel!
Not to hijack your thread as this is quite beautiful!
I myself will be doing the same here soon. Since in essence my B2 became my B3 before I retired from racing with AE and did not have enough servo saver and other items to keep both my B3 and reassemble my "prototype" early pre-retail B2 with the parts I got from AE, I decided to buy a B2 off ebay which should be here this week, and put my old B2 back together with all the original parts I kept all these years. I still have two of my painted B2 Team Bodies and wings from back in the day as well.
Hopefully here soon, I too will also be able to add my old B2 to my collection alongside the B3 and B4 on the glass case!
Very nicely done here m_vice!!!

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Now I feel really lucky I scored an NIB B2 body and wing off ebay last week for $20
I do have another new but slightly scratched up B2 body if we can convince somebody to make a mold

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
Some good stuff Ruffy, I love my B2. The B2 has one of the coolest bodies in my opinion. I know eventually I will get one.
He Ruffy did you guy use the 3 piece front wheels for extra traction?

Re: My RC10B2 races restoration.
We used to use them on and off as it allowed the car slightly different traction levels in the front and also allowed the car to fly over the jumps a little differently due to the added weight and rotational mass up front. Kind of really depended on the track and the jumps design if I selected them or not.
To be honest it was a very small fine tune as you could only tell sometimes by means of a stopwatch, although sometimes it just plain out felt better.
I still use 3 piece ones on my vintage cars today.
